Blind Faith by N.R. Walker
Blurb: Starting a new job in a new town, veterinarian Carter Reece, makes a house call to a very special client.
Arrogant, moody and totally gorgeous, Isaac Brannigan has been blind since he was eight. After the death of his guide dog and best friend, Rosie, his partnership with his new guide dog, Brady, isn’t going well.
Carter tries to help both man and canine through this initiation phase, but just who is leading who?
Review: As I’ve said before, N.R. Walker is on my list of go to authors. Her books are well written and extremely well thought out. I enjoy reading her works since she always manages to give me an enjoyable, sometimes memorable reading experience.
Blind Faith by N.R. Walker is no different. At first I wondered how she would bring me to understand how a blind man copes with his daily challenges. Sure we all have an idea or think we have an idea of how a blind person manages daily life. But I challenge you to put a blindfold over your eyes and cook dinner without slicing your fingers off or burning the house down. Add to that, navigating the public transportation system when you have to rely on the goodness of others to guide you.
Well I was pleasantly surprised at the manner in which Walker pulled me into the story. Brannigan is an arrogant man whose heart had been broken on more than one occasion. First in the car accident that caused his blindness as well as another heart wrenching situation (not going to spoil it here) And then the loss of the one and only one living thing that seemed to really understand him – his trusted Rosie.
So when Brady is brought into his life, Brannigan wanted nothing to do with love and affection. Nothing to do with caring. Nothing to do with getting close since every time he did that, his heart was broken.
Enter the new vet, Carter Reece, and his desire to “Help.” Not going to happen!! Yeah right.
