Review: Incorporating science fiction and gay romance can be extremely interesting, to me, especially if the author creates a believable scenario. Rob Colton created more than that in The Degan Incident. He did a great job incorporating science fiction, suspense, and gay romance in a hostile world where humans and aliens found enjoyment and love in each others arms.
Drago is an alien who enjoys the company of the lonely spaceport worker Devin McSmith. What neither realized was that they found sex to be extremely enjoyable with each other. Alien and human sexual interactions have been portrayed in many other books. There are vampire, shifter, alien – human interactions each having their own set of difficulties and end results.
The interaction between Drago and Devin’s DNA brought on a reaction that neither anticipated. That DNA difference also lead to others wanting to learn more about how the two coupled and what the result of their coupling would bring. That premise is what led me to enjoy Colton’s storyline.
If you enjoy science fiction with a gay twist and an alien interaction, then The Degan Incident by Rob Colton might suit you. It’s a fast read, an interesting storyline, and was well written. I did go further and read the second book in the series, finding that one equally interesting and an enjoyable read.
