Can Love Overpower Death?
In Death He Lives
By: John Charles
The love of Reade’s life, Alex, lay in a coma showing no signs of awakening. And Reade put him there.
Reade’s life has been ruled by a tyrant father since his birth. Every step he takes is controlled and even choreographed by Harrold. Now Reade wants to live his own life but can’t find the courage to come out and fight his dominating father.
Alex is out, proud, and loves life. He fell in love with Reade and wants that love shared both in private and public. He is proud of his love and wants to feel the same from him.
His unwillingness to stand up to Harrold and claim his life was the topic of repeated arguments between Reade and Alex- including that night in the car. Losing control of his temper and the car caused Reade to drive off the road and down an embankment. The near fatal crash put Reade in the hospital with severe injuries and put Alex into a coma.
Harrold hates Alex so much he has forbidden Reade from seeing him. So Alex lay in a coma without the man he loves by his side.
Alone in his room, Reade has time to think. Does his love for Alex outweigh losing everything? Can he stand up to Harrold knowing how much he will lose? Will that love bring Alex back? Or will Alex succumb to death leaving Reade and everything he loves behind?[Tweet “Would you forfeit everything for the one you love?”]
They say people in a coma can hear you talking to them. Can Alex hear Reade telling him about the fight he had with his father? Will Alex understand that the man he loves has given up everything to be by his side?
They say people in a coma have vivid dreams. In Alex’s coma-induced dream he has awakened, found his loving partner, and is living his ideal life.
Will Alex want to leave his wonderful dream to return to Reade?
This is a riveting love story with a science fiction twist. Alex has found his true love in his coma induced dream. To live that dream life, he needs to let this one go. Reade is willing to give up everything to be with Alex. But for that to happen, Alex’s dream life must die. Which life will he choose?
The intrigue of the plot was as good as the romance of the plot, making it a well-rounded story about a double identity sci-fi fantasy. It will keep you guessing till the end. Highly recommend.
