Blurb: Don’t date your bodyguard. It was the one rule he had to break.
Maximoff Hale is a force of nature. A ship unwilling to be steered. Headstrong, resilient, and wholly responsible — the twenty-two-year-old alpha billionaire can handle his unconventional life. By noon, lunch can turn into a mob of screaming fans. By two, his face is all over the internet.
Born into one of the most famous families in the country, his celebrity status began at birth.
He is certified American royalty.
When he’s assigned a new 24/7 bodyguard, he comes face-to-face with the worst case scenario: being attached to the tattooed, MMA-trained, Yale graduate who’s known for “going rogue” in the security team — and who fills 1/3 of Maximoff’s sexual fantasies.
Twenty-seven-year-old Farrow Keene has one job: protect Maximoff Hale. Flirting, dating, and hot sex falls far, far out of the boundary of his bodyguard duties and into “termination” territory. But when feelings surface, protecting the sexy-as-sin, stubborn celebrity becomes increasingly complicated.
Together, boundaries blur, and being exposed could mean catastrophic consequences for both.

Review: Don’t date your bodyguard? Really? How is that possible when he is the one man you’ve had a crush on for years. Having a crush on someone else’s bodyguard was a bit much. At least he was not in your face everyday – 24/7. But when Farrow is assigned to be his bodyguard, Maximoff knew he was in real trouble.
Celebrity status made life more than difficult for everyone. Maximoff and his family were always in the camera lens. Everything they did, everywhere they went, who they saw, what they ate, everything – was part of the world of the paparazzi. Farrow’s job was to protect him. To do that he had to be wherever Maximof was, in his home, his car, his office, the gym, everywhere. And nothing stops the paparazzi from trying to get the money shot.
Imagine your family is famous. You grew up with it and it had become second nature to you. Now imagine that other members of your family had reputations for doing things that you were not proud of. Yeah, those skeletons are out of the closet and if your mother did that, well then you are doing it too, right? Even if the answer is no, will anyone believe you? Will they care? No, all they want is the money shot, so you need protection, but damn, does it have to be the one man you crave but can’t have?
I gave Damaged Like Us 3.5 stars only because it was a long read. In my opinion too long. At times I wanted to put it down, but I persevered to the end. Why? Because it was a good book and I wanted to know how the Ritchie’s worked through the plot. And I wanted to know if Farrow and Maximoff – well you know.
If you like to read about the rich and famous, how they hate being in the limelight all the time, what their private lives are like, how some members of the family won’t even go out of their homes, how one family member’s issues becomes everyone’s. And if you want to crawl inside the life of a bodyguard as he tries to protect his client from everything and everyone, then read Damaged Like Us
