Blurb: A biological agent is stolen from a biocontainment lab. Weaponized, it could kill millions, and a desperate national hunt ensues to catch the terrorists before it is too late. Luke Stone, head of an elite FBI department, with his own family still in jeopardy, has vowed to walk away—but when the new President, barely sworn in, calls him, he can’t turn his back on her.
Shocking devastation follows, winding its way all the way to the President, who finds her own family in jeopardy. Her strength tested, as she steps into her new role, she surprises even her closest advisors. Rival presidential staff want Luke out of the picture, and with his team in danger, and left to his own resources, it becomes personal. But Luke Stone never gives up until he, or the terrorists, are dead.
Luke realizes quickly that the terrorist’s final target is even more high value—and more terrifying—than even he could imagine. Yet with only a few days before doomsday, it’s unlikely that even he can stop what’s already in motion.
A political thriller with non-stop action, dramatic international settings, unexpected twists and heart-pounding suspense, OATH OF OFFICE is book #2 in the Luke Stone series, an explosive new series that will leave you turning pages late into the night.

Review: “Luke Stone is a maniac,” a phrase that was said, about him, more than once. Maybe so, but Luke Stone had one mission and that was to serve. And serve he did, just not necessarily in the way his superiors thought appropriate.
Since a terrorist coupe took down the government of the United States, Luke Stone saved the Vice President’s life at least seven times. Rebecca, his wife, and Gunner, his son, had been abducted by the agents of the terrorists who took down the government as a bargaining chip. It was their hope it would stop him from toppling the government for their return. It didn’t work. They learned you never went against Luke Stone unless you were willing to give up your own lives in the process.
Now he was tasked with finding a biologic weaponized form of Ebola that had been stolen from a “High Security” lab in Texas. “Why are they experimenting with a weaponized form of Ebola?” He knew better than to expect a reasonable answer.
His journey to find the weapon took him into enemy territory, caused an international incident, and offended more than one government. The only person who still believed in him was the new President Susan Hopkins. Maybe it was that he saved her life, maybe she really believed, maybe she had no other options. She gave him free reign to do what he did best – find and secure the weapon, and if possible capture the enemy.
Jack Mars wrote a story that would send chills down anyone’s spine. Could a coup actually work in the United States? Could the government of the Free World be taken down? What would happen if a weapon such as Ebola was released into a major city? And would the president really allow an agent like Luke Stone free reign to solve the problem?
Oath Of Office was well written and took me along for the ride. Mars captured the fears, insecurities of the new officials, as well as the agents. It was a mind boggling adventure, an adventure that could happen if we let our guards down. This book is probably not something to read the night before a pivotal election. But read and enjoy, for something like it certainly could happen, someday.
