Review: Guarding The Anchorman by Avery J Moon
Title: Guarding The Anchorman
Author: Avery J. Moon
Series: Travis County Legal – Book 4
Rating: 4 stars out of 5
Blurb: Sometimes the past doesn’t just come back to haunt you. Sometimes it goes for the jugular.
At least that’s the way it seemed to Liam Wright. He had jumped at the offer to leave his popular radio show to anchor Channel Three’s new World Affairs show. But if he’d done his research on the other staff members at the station, he might not have been so hasty.
Just one week into the new job, his old University lover is murdered, and it all seems to tie together. Especially when the text comes telling him he is next.
Deputy Blake Harper should have heeded the sheriff’s warning about keeping the private security gig all business.
He shouldn’t have allowed himself to start having feelings for the man. For one thing, at the start of it all, Liam was pretty much their only suspect. But for another, what if the attraction between the two caused enough of a distraction that they let something, or someone, slip through their defenses?
Would the growing feelings between them turn out to be a fatal attraction?

Review: Liam had a past, a past that he chose to hide, but a few choice people knew and they could ruin him or worse. Guarding The Anchorman was a mystery from word one. What did Liam want to hide and why? Who knew and how could they ruin his life? Questions presented with no answers make this book and interesting read.
When he becomes the only suspect in the murder of his former lover, Liam’s life goes into a tail spin. How does he defend himself without compromising what he is hiding? When the text appears on his phone telling him that he’s next, all bets are off. He needs protection from whomever is stalking him, who could also be setting him up for his own death.
Who does he turn to? The cop investigating him, Deputy Blake Harper. Even Liam wasn’t sure that was a good idea. He asked the deputy if he did private protection services sorta jokingly. But when the man agreed to be his guard, both men found themselves in much deeper than they had previously thought possible. Throw in Blake’s sister who recently moved in with her teenage son and the mix becomes even more difficult. Moon took me along the path of lust, hate, love and more as the two men tried to navigate their personal lives, stave off a murderer, and solve the open case while trying not to become entangled in an affair during a criminal investigation.
If you enjoy a good murder mystery mixed with a budding love affair, mixed with family dynamics, then give Guarding The Anchorman by Avery Moon a try.
